A devastating humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the Gaza Strip, as famine continues to spread throughout the enclave, claiming the lives of numerous Palestinian children. According to a recent United Nations statement, independent experts warn that the alarming number of child fatalities due to hunger and malnutrition indicates a widespread famine.

The dire situation has resulted in the deaths of at least 34 Palestinians, mostly children, since October 7, 2023, with a significant increase in malnutrition cases. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that a substantial portion of Gaza's population is facing catastrophic hunger and famine-like conditions.

The situation is further exacerbated by escalating hostilities across Gaza, which significantly hinder access to healthcare. Over 8,000 children in Gaza have been diagnosed and treated for acute malnutrition, with 1,600 severe cases.

Independent experts condemn Israel's intentional starvation campaign as a form of genocidal violence, emphasizing the need for immediate international action to address the crisis.

The international community must come together to provide urgent aid and support to the people of Gaza, ensuring unfettered access to healthcare, food, and other essential resources. The lives of countless innocent children and families depend on it.

We call upon world leaders to take immediate action to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and work towards a lasting resolution to this humanitarian crisis.
