The escalating insecurity in Busia District, marked by the senseless murder of boda boda riders, and numerous other lives lost and properties destroyed, is utterly unacceptable. I urge you to take immediate action to address this crisis.


Community Leaders:


- Mobilize your communities to stand against criminality

- Encourage collaboration with law enforcement


Security Organs:


- Increase patrols and intelligence gathering

- Ensure swift investigations and prosecutions


RDC:


- Convene emergency security meetings to address the crisis

- Coordinate efforts to enhance public safety


Together, let us:


1. Foster Community Policing: Collaborate with law enforcement to identify and address security concerns.


2. Enhance Public Spaces: Improve lighting and infrastructure to deter criminal activity.


3. Empower Youth: Provide economic opportunities to reduce poverty and desperation.


4. Establish Conflict Resolution Centers: Resolve disputes peacefully through community mediation.
