     In a surprise move, President William Ruto has declined to sign the Finance Bill 2024 and has sent it back to parliament for further consideration. The move comes after widespread protests and opposition to the bill's proposed tax hikes and budget allocations.

According to sources, the President has proposed several amendments to the bill, which MPs will consider before resubmitting it for his approval.
