The High Court has upheld the deployment of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to assist the police in controlling the anti-Finance bill protests. The court gave the government two days to state the scope, duration, and areas of intervention.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) had filed a petition challenging the legality of the KDF deployment, arguing that it was unconstitutional and posed a threat to the fundamental rights and freedoms of Kenyans. However, the government defended the deployment, stating that it was done in accordance with the law and that the situation on the ground warranted the reinforcement of the KDF.

The ruling was made following a hearing on the petition, and the court has given the government two days to provide the necessary information on the deployment.
