Empowering Village Teams through Sports and Sustainable Development

Dear readers,

As a long-time supporter of sports, particularly football tournaments, in SBC, I am excited to share my vision for empowering village teams beyond the pitch. While providing trophies, jerseys, football nets, and other forms of support is crucial, I believe we can do more to help our youths become productive members of society.

My approach is simple: let's encourage village teams to explore income-generating activities like farming projects and other productive ventures. By doing so, we can help them develop essential skills, nurture their talents, and fight poverty.

To make this vision a reality, I pledge to establish a Sports Fund to finance these projects. Our objectives are:

- Provide financial support to village teams to initiate and sustain income-generating projects
- Foster a culture of entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency among young people
- Encourage teams to explore innovative and sustainable ways to address poverty and unemployment
- Develop partnerships with local organizations to provide training and mentorship
- Promote sports as a tool for social and economic development

By supporting our village teams in this holistic manner, we can create a brighter future for our youths and our communities. Let's work together to make a difference!

TEAM OUMA PATRICK (TRANSFORMER) MP SBC 2026
